The existence of legal rules, and the principle of the supremacy of law are indispensable elements of a state founded on law. The identity of this democratic law state is preserved through the provision of legal education in an appropriate and comprehensive manner, which in turn requires the creation of educated, high qualified, modern jurists, equipped with the qualities needed to work at an international level, and able to apply the rule of law in order to achieve the ideals of law and justice in the most effective manner. The Faculty Of Law was founded in 2000 with this as their guiding principle. With their knowledge of the demands of an increasingly competitive and complex global environment, the faculty staff aim to provide an education for their law students which will lead them to success in their chosen profession, endow them with an excellent command of legal knowledge and skills, and equip them to deal the difficulties and competition that they will face during their future careers. Following a 1-year preparatory language course in German, the faculty continues to provide intensive language learning throughout the undergraduate programme.
