Akdeniz Üniversitesi Sualtı Sporları Topluluğu, Akdeniz'in masmavi suları altındaki  gizemli hayatı keşfetmek, tanımak ve bu konuya ilgi duyan gençleri bir çatı altında buluşturmak,  gençler arasında, üretim, paylaşım ve dostluk duygularını geliştirmek amacı ile Yrd. Doç. Dr. Mehmet GÖKOĞLU’ nun Akademik Danışmanlığında  bir gurup Akdeniz  Üniversitesi  öğrencisi tarafından 2004 yılında kurulmuştur. Tamamen öğrencilerden oluşan ve kendi içerisinde yönetsel bir yapı kurmuş olan Sualtı Sporları Topluluğu , kurulduğu yıldan bu yana  yüzlerce öğrenciye doğa ve çevre bilinci içerinde dalış eğitimi vermiş, bir çok yerel ve ulusal düzeyde etkinlikler gerçekleştirmiştir..

Akdeniz University Underwater Sports Association was established in 2004 by a group of  University students to explore the mystery of life under the deep blue water of the Mediterranean, and to develop an interest in this issue amongst a group of young people who meet under one roof to share their feelings, to develop friendship, and to pursue Academic Development with Asst. Assoc. Dr. Mehmet GÖKOĞLU. Many local and national level activities have been carried out by the Underwater Sports Association, which was established entirely by students with their own administrative structure, to combine a study of nature and environmental awareness within the diving training provided.
Every year sees the participation of new students who will contribute to the ongoing activities of the Association.
