Application for
Foreign Medical Students/Residents Planning Short-term
Studies in Akdeniz University Medical Faculty
(Students
applying Socrates/Erasmus Program should apply to the
Akdeniz International Relations
Office or the
Socrates Erasmus Coordinator of The
University of Akdeniz Faculty of Medicine.)
Admissions
Criteria and Application Procedures
The University of Akdeniz Faculty of
Medicine accepts visiting students from outside
Türkiye to enroll in under-graduate
programs (courses including electives/clerkships) or
residency on a space-available basis.
Visiting
students/residents must meet the following admissions
requirements:
a)
Courses including electives/clerkships are subject to
availability and the approval of individual departments.
b) Visiting students/residents
are subject to comply with The University of Akdeniz Faculty
of Medicine policies and procedures and have the same rights
and responsibilities as the domestic students/residents.
c) Visiting students/residents
are required to obtain a tourist visa for the duration of
their time in Türkiye, if required. Questions about visa
requirements or visa status should be referred to the
University of Akdeniz International
Relations Office or
the Turkish Embassy in Your country.
Students staying more than one month in Türkiye need to
apply for a
RESIDENCE PERMIT
The
following application procedures will be followed:
a) Student/residents
applicants must submit a letter of good standing from the
Dean of their home institution.
b) Student/residents
applicants must submit a letter of permission from the Dean
of their home institution to study at The University of
Akdeniz Faculty of Medicine.
c) Student/residents
must submit an official letter stating the method of their
home institutions’ evaluation upon successful completion of
the course(s) or residency.
d) Health
Insurance coverage must be provided by the Student/Resident.
e) Fluency
in both spoken and written English is required.
f) Housing
is not provided by The University of Akdeniz Faculty of
Medicine; however,
The University
of
Akdeniz International Relations Office
might help to locate short-term housing on and around the
campus.
g) Visiting
students/residents will be appropriately oriented to clinic
and hospital procedures by the department providing the
course or residency.
All
applications are reviewed and finally approved by the Dean
of Faculty of Medicine, after consulting the department
providing the course or residency.
