ERASMUS ACTIVITIES

We have the following bilateral agreements established under Erasmus Program for student and teaching staff exchanges:

1- Erasmushogeschool Brussels, Department of Horteco (Brussels, Belgium)
2- Estonian University of Life Sciences (Tartu, Estonia)
3- Berlin Technical University (Berlin, Germany)
4- Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Alnarp, Sweden)
5- University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (Sofia, Bulgaria)

Student exhanges are being organised with partner universities. Our students Hacer MUTLU, Selma ERSOY and Aynur ARSLAN has been to Erasmushogeschool Brussels while Pinar GULYAVUZ and Arzu VURUSKAN has been to Berlin Technical University.

In February 2007, Erasmus students Frederik VANDEN ABEELE and Frans CLAES from Belgium came to study in our department under the advisorship and organisation of Dr. Selcuk SAYAN and Dr. Meryem ATIK.

Under the teaching staff exchange program, the Erasmus Coordinator of the Landscape Architecture Department of ErasmusHogeschool Brussels, Steven GOOSSENS, came to visit our department in February 2007. Luk DERONDE from the same university gave lectures in our department in March 2007. Ms.Anna-Lisa UNT from Estonian University of Life Sciences also gave lectures in our department in April 2007.

The teaching staff of our department also give courses in partner universities. Prof.Dr. Veli ORTACESME, Dr. Selcuk SAYAN and Dr. Meryem ATIK gave lectures in Belgium, Estonia and Germany in several occasions.

Our department has been acting as a partner institution in several Erasmus programmes. One of them is LE:NOTRE Thematic Network on Landscape Architecture, started in October 2002. For further information about the project, please see http://www.le-notre.org

The other project in which our Department took place together with the Department of Environmental Engineering is COZIP: An Intensive Programme in European Integrated Coastal Zone Management. Several universities from United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and Malta take place in this 3-years project.The activities in the first year took place in our university between 14 and 29 June 2005. The second year's activities took place in United Kingdom with the organisation of Swansea Institute of Higher Education (Wales) and Southampton Solent University (England) between 25 June and 10 July 2006. Activities in 2007 will take place in Ireland with the organisation of University College Cork between 10 and 25 June.

Our department is also interested in Leonardo da Vinci Program. On this respect, one of the senior students of Erasmushogeschool Brussels, Department of Horteco, Abdullah Azizoglu, visited our department as a trainee during 2003-2004 Spring term.
